There’s only one purpose for Holidays…to connect with others…in celebration, commemoration, recognition, worship, and remembrance.

If you are in business and you’re working and trying to market your business with relationship marketing and referral marketing techniques, you may be missing something.  If you’re in a new stepfamily and you’re trying to win over a stepkid or new mother-in-law, you may be missing something.  Guess what?

It’s really who?

YOU!

Only when you send out to give, do you really connect.

That’s why I’m including a complete section on Holidays! It is a chance to connect…a chance to share THE REAL YOU in more ways that you might ever have thought about.

This is more than a reminder page.  See how many serious and sometimes hilarious ways you can begin to connect with the people in your life. Afterall connecting with people is really all that life is about. There are lots of ways to do it, but the most effective I’ve ever found is with greeting cards – fun cards, custom photo cards, serious sharing feelings cards.  As I’ve said before, greeting cards are keepers; emails are delete-ers.

NOTE: On May 21, 2009, I gave up wanting to list all the holidays I could find.  I decided I’d rather design a greeting card and discuss all the advantages to sending greeting card in your personal and business lives.  In fact I hated compiling lists of holidays, as funny and as moving as some of those holidays were.

But I didn’t leave you high and dry- Here’s the sources where some of the very best lists are kept. Use them. Enjoy them. and by all means send your personalized, customized, photo greeting cards.  OK?

Brownielocks and the 3 Bears
This site if run by Sheila Cicchi. It is fun and kid friendly…
in my humble opinion, but be prepared to explain the meaning of
some of the holidays, like some of the health issues. As the
grandmother of 6, I’ve always felt, if they are old enough to ask,
they deserve an honest answer, although maybe not all the details.

If you’re looking only for information and don’t want the
joy and fun of Brownielocks, you must be more left-brained than me.
But I didn’t want you to feel left out.

Below are some tips for special holiday greeting card sending, but if you’re looking for holidays please visit the links above.    Pat Bennett, July 20, 2009

So use this as a reminder of special holidays. Use it as a memory jogger. Use it however you want, but most importantly it is my intent to give you a chance to connect in a way you might never have thought about.

February has an interesting week.  International Friendship week. That would have been a great one to celebrate with custom photo greeting cards. Get out that old yearbook, scan a fuzzy black and white photo and send out a memory to an old friend.

The last week of February marked two special weekly celebrations–although they seem to me to be rather conflicting. National Eatting Disorder Week shares the same calender dates as National Pancake Week. Almost every month has these opposing holidays.

From now on I will be compiling holidays on this website by month, starting with March. If you find one that I have missed, please let me know.

ANNOUNCING A CHANGE OF HEART

May 21, 2009 UPDATE ABOUT HOLIDAY LISTING:  I have a confession. I don’t enjoy making lists of holidays any more.  It didn’t take me long to figure this out.  In less than 2 months, I’m burned out.

But I have something even better for you.  I’m going to refer you to a couple of the best sources for complete, cute, holiday listings.  Here are the links, if you want to get your own list of holidays. There are some excellent sources – so why should I duplicate them????

I’d really rather design custom photo greeting cards or send out greeting cards to let a person in my life know they are important to me. I hope this isn’t too disappointing, but I can’t stand it!

Besides here’s the best sources I can find for you on the Internet that list holidays. They will open in a new window, because I don’t want to send you away….
